Android phone is a very smart phone, it can scan all your media files (pictures and videos) from anywhere on your phone and put them in the gallery for everyone to see.
Now how about if you want to keep some of your pictures/ videos private which means they can only be seen by you? No problem, on Android, you can simply hide the folder containing videos and / or images so that they do not appear in the gallery.
Note: This method hides a folder and all files within it. So if you have several pictures or videos that you want to hide, simply move them into this folder before you go on.
- Open your favorite file manager, such as Astro File Manager, ES File Explorer, and E-plore File Manager. If you don’t have one, you can download it for free at Google Play Store.
- Find the specific folder (or album) that you want to be hidden from your android phone’sgallery.
- Tap rename and put a .(dot) in front of the folder name (with no spaces). For example, .nomedia.
- Press OK and done.
Your album or folder is now hidden and will not show up on your gallery. To show it up again, simply remove that dot to make it back to normal.
