Hide the Keyboard In Android Phone

You can almost always toggle the keyboard by long-pressing the Menu key. On Ice
Cream Sandwich, this won’t work, but most keyboards let you dismiss them by swiping
down within them. (One exception is Swype, for obvious reasons.)
Why would you want to do this? Well, sometimes text fields trigger the keyboard when
you don’t want it covering half of the screen, and sometimes the keyboard doesn’t
automatically appear when you do want it
– this often happens with web pages that require text input, but don’t have any text
boxes.

Alternative Symbols in Android Keyboard.

Some keys can display more than one symbol: you can long-press the key and swipe

over one of the symbols that pops up to insert it. For example, long-tap “c” and you can

insert a “รง”. On the default keyboard (and some others), the letters that hide extra

symbols have an ellipsis (“…”) in the corner.

Quickly Switch Keyboard in WHatsApp

Instead of diving through the Settings menu to switch keyboard, you can do it from

within any app: just long-press a text field and tap “Input method”, then choose your

new keyboard from the list.

Alter the Default Zoom in wHatsapp

By default, when you open a page, your zoom level will be set to Medium. You can
change this to Far or Close by altering the “Default zoom” option in the settings.
The other setting that affects this is “Open pages in overview”, which makes new pages
open zoomed all the way out when checked.

Resize Your Widgets IN Whatsapp.

For widgets that support resizing, you can long-press the widget on your home screen

to

make controls appear; drag these to change the width and height

Change Default Apps in WhatApp

If you have an application set as the default for some action – for example, a particular
browser is the default for opening web pages – you can change that. Find the app
inSettings > Manage Applications, then tap Clear Defaults.
This also applies to launchers. If you want to try another one, then remove your current
selection as the default; whenever you press Home it’ll let you choose between all the
launchers you have installed, until you select a new default

SHORTCUTS TO CONVERSATIONS in whaTSAPP.

If there are certain people you chat to more often, it might be a good idea to create a shortcut for them directly on your homescreen so you don’t have to keep opening and closing WhatsApp.
How: Tap and hold on the chat (group or individual) of your choice and a tab will pop up. Select the Add Conversation Shortcut option and the chat in question will appear as the person's profile photo on your mobile desktop. Unfortunately this only applies for Android users and not iPhone ones. Sorry guys.

IN WHATSaap SENDING PUBLIC MESSAGES PRIVATELY

If you’ve got a generic announcement to make - an invite to a weekend BBQ or an intervention about your friend's unhealthy obsession with KFC - and you don’t want to do it on the loudmouth platform that is Facebook, this feature works in pretty much the same way as BCC-ing people in an email.
Your recipients will get the message as if it was a privately composed one, oblivious to the fact that you’ve sent the exact same invite to 342 other people. Sincerity? What's that?
How: On the top left hand corner of your WhatsApp Chats window, just below the search bar, you’ll notice a Broadcast Lists. Tap on it for the option to create a new list of contacts you want your message to go out to, and message away like you would normally.

SEE WHEN YOUR MESSAGES ARE READ IN wHATSaPP

Think the double blue ticks are the worst thing to happen to relationships since Last Seen? Think again. Here's another way you could annoy your mates.
In addition to finding out the exact time your messages are delivered, you can also choose to see the exact time your message was read if you choose to stick with the ticks.
How: Go to any of your WhatsApp chats, tap and hold on any of the messages you’ve sent in that chat, followed by the Info option. For iOS users, you can also drag towards the left to reveal a window which will show the time your message was delivered and subsequently read.
It works for group messages too with the window listing the time each participant read the message.

How To Hide Media Files from Android Phone’s Gallery

Android phone is a very smart phone, it can scan all your media files (pictures and videos) from anywhere on your phone and put them in the gallery for everyone to see.
Now how about if you want to keep some of your pictures/ videos private which means they can only be seen by you? No problem, on Android, you can simply hide the folder containing videos and / or images so that they do not appear in the gallery.
Note: This method hides a folder and all files within it. So if you have several pictures or videos that you want to hide, simply move them into this folder before you go on.
  1. Open your favorite file manager, such as Astro File Manager, ES File Explorer, and E-plore File Manager. If you don’t have one, you can download it for free at Google Play Store.
  2. Find the specific folder (or album) that you want to be hidden from your android phone’sgallery.
  3. Tap rename and put a .(dot) in front of the folder name (with no spaces). For example, .nomedia.
  4. Press OK and done.
Your album or folder is now hidden and will not show up on your gallery. To show it up again, simply remove that dot to make it back to normal.
